The twelfth meeting of New York State’s Child Poverty Reduction Advisory Council will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, Meeting Room 1, Empire State Plaza Convention Center, Albany, NY 12242.
Summary: The New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), in partnership with the Governor’s Office of the State of New York, is convening the Child Poverty Reduction Advisory Council (CPRAC), pursuant to the Child Poverty Reduction Act, signed into law by Governor Kathy Hochul. The Council’s responsibilities include:
- providing analyses of child poverty in New York,
- making policy recommendations for reducing child poverty by 50 percent over ten years,
- measuring and reporting on progress towards that goal
The Council includes a wide range of stakeholders, including representatives from across government, advocacy organizations, not-for-profits that focus on poverty issues, individuals directly impacted by poverty, Regional Economic Development Councils, and more.
The Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance will provide a webcast of this meeting in real time on December 18, 2024.
