Bridge 2010-2011
Appropriation Level: $1,000,000
The Bridge Program, which operates in conjunction with the State University of New York’s University Center for Academic and Workforce Development, is supported with $2,499,184, comprised of $1M from SFY 2010-11, $770,671 of unprogrammed Bridge funds from SFY 2009-10, $169,806 of unprogrammed Bridge funds from SFY 2008-09, and $558,707 of unprogrammed Bridge funds from SFY 2007-08. The Bridge program provides 11 local social services districts with employment preparation services specifically designed to provide Family Assistance and other TANF eligible families with the skills and supports necessary to obtain employment. Bridge programs are located in selected Educational Opportunity Centers and one UCAWD operating location. Activities include job readiness/job search activities, academic services, and short-term skills training. The following participant outcome goals are established for each site:
