New York State Caseload Reduction Credit Report for the Temporary Assistance to Need Families Program
Each year, states can use the federal Caseload Reduction Credit Report to request allowable reductions to federal Temporary Assistance to Need Families Program (TANF) work participation rate requirements. As part of this report, states are required to estimate the impact of any state policies implemented since FFY 2015 that decreased the state TANF caseload and may offset these estimates with state policies implemented since FFY 2015 that increased the TANF caseload. If states include any state-specific estimates of the impact of state policy changes since FFY 2015, federal regulation requires states to allow public comment on any state-specific estimates and methodologies the state intends to submit.
For the FFY2025 report, OTDA did not have any policies that reduced the TANF caseload since FFY 2015 and therefore will not be requesting any state-specific changes to the caseload reduction calculation. As a result, OTDA has no information to share for public comment. Questions may be posed by calling (518) 474-9516 or by writing to the Public Information Office, New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, 40 North Pearl Street – 16th Floor, Albany, New York 12243.
