Wage Subsidy Program (WSP) & Transitional Employment Program (TE) 2013-2014
Appropriation Level: $950,000
Using wage subsidies as a hiring incentive, non-profit agencies work with employers to develop positions for individuals who have been unable to find employment through conventional means. The non-wage subsidy portion of the contracts is performance-based and vendors earn reimbursement as participants become employed, transition to and retain unsubsidized employment. Program goals are:
- Completion of 30 days in subsidized employment;
- Transition to unsubsidized employment;
- Completion of 90 days in unsubsidized employment, or 120 days for direct placement.
The SFY 2013-14 $950,000 appropriation was originally programmed for the Wage Subsidy Program (WSP) and Transitional Employment Program (TE) contract cycle that ran 1/1/09 – 3/31/14 but was reprogrammed to support the new round of Wage Subsidy contracts that began on 9/1/15.
